Biography

Nana Kwasi Opare I is the esteemed Osomanyawa of Amanokrom and Akuapem Gyase in the Akuapem Traditional Area of Ghana. As Osomanyawa, he occupies one of the highest traditional offices within Amanokrom and serves as the principal deputy and second-in-command to the Ohene of Amanokrom.

In this distinguished role, he provides leadership, counsel, and support in the administration of traditional affairs, the preservation of cultural heritage, conflict resolution, and the promotion of community development.

Widely respected for his wisdom, integrity, and dedication to public service, Nana Kwasi Opare I has devoted his life to advancing the welfare of his people while safeguarding the rich traditions and customs of Akuapem. His leadership continues to inspire unity, peace, and progress throughout the traditional area.

Heritage and Traditional Identity

Nana Kwasi Opare I is a proud member of the Agona Clan,one of the distinguished royal clans of Akuapem, whose revered totem is the Parrot (Akoɔ).

Deeply rooted in the values and traditions of his ancestors, he remains committed to preserving the cultural identity, dignity, and heritage of his people for future generations.

Education

Nana Kwasi Opare I began his educational journey at St. John’s Preparatory School and later attended Alogboshie Primary School. He subsequently enrolled at St. John’s Secondary School, Achimota, where he completed his secondary education.

Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning and personal development, he pursued Advanced Level studies and furthered his education at Workers College in Accra.

He later attended the prestigious University of Westminster in London, United Kingdom,where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree.

His educational background, both in Ghana and abroad, has provided him with the knowledge, leadership skills, and global perspective that continue to influence his contributions to traditional leadership, business, and community service.

Business and Professional Career

Beyond his traditional responsibilities, Nana Kwasi Opare I is an accomplished entrepreneur with extensive experience in tourism, international trade, and agriculture.

He is the Chief Executive Officer of Stage Zay Consult, a reputable travel and tours company that provides professional travel services and consultancy to clients locally and internationally.

In addition, he is actively involved in the import and export of general goods and has built a successful reputation as a businessman engaged in both local and international commerce.

He is also a dedicated farmer whose investments in agriculture contribute to food production, employment creation, and economic development.

Traditional Leadership and Service

Odwira Festival Leadership

Nana Kwasi Opare I has played a significant role in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Akuapem people through his active involvement in the Odwira Festival.

He is a member of the Secretariat for the historic Akuapem Odwira 200-Year Celebration.

His dedication to cultural preservation and community engagement led to his appointment as Chairman of the Gyase Odwira Committee, a position he held for three consecutive terms.
